The history of Buddhism

Just imagine for one second about wanting nothing, how would you feel? Calm?, relaxed? , satisfied? , unpleasant? Well that is normal for people who has Buddhism religion they would be very cheerful because they do not want anything. This is my report about the religion of Buddhism and it’s history. There is a person who made the Buddhism religion work and his name is Buddha.

Buddha was actually Siddhartha Gautama than he became Buddha. How did Siddhartha Gautama became Buddha? Well it all began that Siddhartha Gautama lived his life in comfort and pleasure and his father was the king. As he grew up he knew that suffering exists, and it made him confused, he wondered,: How could they be saved? So he went on a journey to find the answers. On the way he meets some holy men and they advised him that giving up all pleasure and comforts will releases him from suffering. Siddhartha tried this and it did not work. Finally he wanted to rest and he did, he sat under a Bo tree and meditated. He did this and he emptied his all thoughts and took a big effort to concentrate. Successfully he got an idea about Buddha.

The religion spread because of Buddha too. He thought everyone from China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Sri Lanka. Wonder how? It all began from the king in India in the third century named Ashoka and he became a Buddhist. Then he sent Buddhist teachers from the whole world and sent them to China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Sri Lanka. Buddhist spread for the next 500 years. After Buddha some one else need to be him but not replacing, his name is Dalai Lama and now he is the leader in Tibet and Buddhist in Tibet believe that he was a living Buddha.

Most of the Buddhist people live in East Asia and Sri Lanka. Buddhism now can be found all over the world and even in Canada and the United States. Buddhism now is also finding new followers in India because it once dried out of Buddhism.

What is God?

I think God is the king of all things and living things. He is always in heaven but also in our heart. He is with us now to protect us . He looks like an angel, the king of us all, he is our father of royalty. He watches our every move. I pray everyday and he listens to every word. He treats us all the same.

My UOI Reflection

Our first UOI is called "Body Works". The Central Idea is " The human body is designed for movement work and play and be affected by a variety of things". The theme is "how we are".

In this UOI class I did a dissection of the chicken wing with my partner, Raymond. We need to be thinkers at the time we had this problem which is how are we going to work together to get ready to open the skin and I was also feeling like a risk taker because he was keep thinking that it was gross. I was ready so I let him do some of the things and make him not think that the chicken is gross and soon He wanted to do it all by himself.

I also did a drawing of the nerve system. Me and my group tried to make it and I had to share ideas. I knew that I had to be an open-minded student to share my ideas where may be the nerve system could have been. I have to be risk takers because if we I made a mistake I really have to be careful and I think I did my best so I have to be happy with my work.

At this UOI, the school doctor came and told us about our bones and what we should do if a bone is broken and I really be an inquirer to ask about the bones. I also had to be a thinker because I have to really understand and not to forget what the dokter says.

Digestive System Journey

I am a papaya and I am on an adventure through the digestive system and I have vitamins and useful fiber inside of me . I help this girl to be healthy and I will be digested through the digestive system.

The Mouth and The Esophagus

First I entered the mouth, in the mouth I was chewed and crushed
by the teeth and I was mixed with a watery liquid called saliva and I have to go through the esophagus, it's 10 inches long that connects to the stomach I think when people saw it in pictures it looks like it's a short way but I say what a long ride and when I was out of the esophagus I landed into the stomach.

The stomach

Then after I fell down to the stomach I fell like I fell into a pink ballon and the stomach is about 10 to 12 inches long and 3 to 5 inches wide. in the stomach I was mixed with digestive chemicals, and there were acid rains from the stomach walls. There is mucus in your stomach that protect it fom strong fluids and they help to kill some bacteria and I went to the smal intestines.

The Dodenum and The Small Intestines

After a long time in the stomach getting more crshed I finaly got to the first ten inches of the small intestines called duodenum and in there I was sent quickly to the small intestines. The entire small intestines are very long it's about 20 to 30 feet long. Inside of the small intestines tubes there is about millions of villi until the tube is full villi helps me to go through the small intestine and collects more things from me After the long ride I fell down to the large intestines.

Large Intestine

Now I'm in the large intestine. The large intestine is about 4 to 5 feet long and 2 and a half inches wide.In here I can find some friendly bacteria. In there when I was through the large intenstines I feel like I was in the small intestines too but I have more room. Then I fell down to the rectum.

The Rectum

When I was out of the large intestine I was in the rectum, rectum is the last place where the whole digestive system ends and the last part of the rectum is anus and I was out of the anus and the body and flushed down by the toilet, and that is my digstive system journey.
